Working with Channel and Judith Clarke Studio we helped realise Queen Azizah of Malaysia's plan to bring the craft of traditional silk weaving to London for Craft Week 2022. Transforming the main hall in the Malaysian High Commission from a dark wood panelled room into a light calico lined exhibition space. Spanning the main exhibition room was a 15m Douglas fir pavilion, constructed in such a way that the structure can be dismantled and stored for future use. To transform the carpet, and allow for fixings, the whole main exhibition room had a false floor installed with each panel wrapped in hessian. At the entrance a motif taken from one of the woven silks was applied with brass tacks. Working with the Textile Surgery to handle the heritage fabrics and display them in the second exhibition room on calico wrapped walls with a central Douglas fir plinth to display the Queen's personal garments.
